The Victron BlueSolar PWM-LCD&USB 48V-10A has a built-in LCD display for status monitoring and settings. The solar charger is equipped with an automatic load disconnect. The BlueSolar PWM series uses pulse width modulation (PWM) charge voltage control combined with a multi-stage charge control algorithm.

The Victron BlueSolar PWM 48V-10A LCD&USB charge controller performs well in small systems when the solar cell temperature is moderate to high (between 45 °C and 75 °C). This model solar charger has a maximum charge current of 10A. The maximum solar voltage is 100V for a 48V system.
The input voltage of a PWM controller is in principle equal to the voltage of the battery and that is connected to the output. The solar panel is therefore in most cases not used at the maximum current point. The PWM controller is in fact a switch that connects the solar panel to the battery. When the switch is closed, the panel and the battery are at almost the same voltage. The voltage will slowly increase with increasing status of the battery. When the absorption voltage is reached, the PWM controller starts to disconnect and reconnect the panel to prevent overload (hence the name: Pulse Length Modulated controller). Pulse Width Modulation (PWM) is the most effective means of charging a battery with constant voltage. The Victron PWM controllers have an automatic voltage detection system 12/24V.

Output load
Deep discharge of the battery can prevent all loads from being disconnected from the output load. The output load will terminate the load when the battery has reached the previous discharge voltage. Some loads (namely inverters) are best connected directly to the battery and the inverter remote control to the output load. A special interface cable may be required, please consult the manual. The connection and disconnection voltages are adjustable.
Day/night timing of the output load
This option allows to set the ON time after sunset.
