The SolarEdge CSS-OD is a high voltage, 102.4kWh energy storage system intended for commercial and industrial systems. The system is AC-coupled using the SolarEdge 50kW PCS050 battery inverter (supplied separately) allowing you to add battery storage to an existing SolarEdge site. The battery can be charged from the grid or from excess PV via other onsite inverters.

The battery modules are arranged in two independent clusters or strings of ten Lithium iron phosphate (LFP) battery modules for system redundancy. Each cluster is managed by a cluster management unit. A built-in heating and ventilation system (HVAC) maintains the internal temperature and, hence, battery efficiency within its rated temperature range.

The system includes an emergency power off switch and contains advanced safety features including fire detection and a double layer of suppression, built-in AC and DC SPDs alongside alerts and O&M via SolarEdge ONE.

It is delivered as a pre-assembled cabinet to minimise labour onsite, simply requiring the SolarEdge PCS to be mounted on the side and AC and DC cabling and communications to be set up. With the PCS, the batteries can be set up as a 1:1 configuration for a 2-hour battery or as a 1:2 configuration for a 4-hour battery.
