The KOSTAL Smart Energy Meter G2 (KSEM) is an advanced 3-phase energy meter and energy management interface designed for precise monitoring of electrical values at the grid connection point. It provides measured data via LAN or RS485, making it an ideal solution for intelligent energy monitoring, dynamic power control, and seamless integration with compatible KOSTAL solar inverter systems.

Engineered for modern residential and commercial PV installations, the KSEM G2 supports direct 3-phase measurement up to 63 A, while higher currents can be measured using external transformers. With 2x LAN interfaces for Modbus TCP and 2x RS485 interfaces for Modbus RTU, the device offers excellent flexibility for communication, monitoring, and system expansion.

The unit is especially suited for use with KOSTAL inverter platforms such as PIKO IQ, PLENTICORE, PIKO MP plus, PIKO EPC, PIKO CI, and PIKO 4.2-20. Depending on the inverter and system configuration, it enables functions such as 24-hour home consumption measurement, dynamic active power control, multiple-inverter control, and provision of energy data for battery-related applications.

Installation is straightforward thanks to its DIN-rail / top-hat rail mounting design, compact housing, and simple commissioning via the online interface with preset values. Software updates are also carried out through the online interface, helping keep the device current and easy to manage over time.
