More info

The Victron Quattro 12/3000/120 inverter/charger combination is, like the MultiPlus, a powerful pure sine wave inverter, an advanced battery charger with adaptive charging technology, and fast AC switches in a single compact housing. Unlike the MultiPlus, the Quattro accepts two AC inputs, and automatically connects to the active source. The many special features include hybrid PowerAssist technology, and multiple system integration functions such as three- or single-phase control and parallel control. All Quattros have a solid steel/aluminium housing (protection class IP21).

Quattro 12/3000/120 inverter/charger specifications:Input voltage: 230VAC and 12VDC | Output voltage: 230VACUUM Power output: 3000VA / 2400W | Peak: 6000WAC inputs: 2 | AC outputs: 2
PowerControl: yes | PowerAssist: yes | Transfer switch: 50A/50Alad current home battery: 120A | Charging current starter battery: 4AMaximal forwarding current: 2 x 50AAnrecommended battery capacity: 600 - 1200 AhRecommended DC fuse: 400A Battery connection: Four M8 bolts (2 positive and 2 negative connections)

Battery cable (not included): 95mm² or 2x 50mm²

Note! : The diameter (mm²) of the battery cables is based on a maximum length of 5 meters.

The Quattro 12/3000/120 is a combination of a  powerful pure sine wave converter with a power of 3000 VA (2400 Watts), an advanced battery charger with adaptive charging technology of 120 Amps, and a double super-fast AC switch in a single compact metal housing. Quattros are equipped with two (2) AC inputs to which different 230V power sources can be connected and automatically switched to priority. This Quattro comes without the necessary 95mm² or 2x 50mm² cables and has four (4) M8 bolts (2 positive and 2 negative connections) for the battery connection.

All Quattro models from this series are equipped with a PowerControl and PowerAssist functionality. All models are also suitable for three-phase and parallel circuitry. This model has a maximum forwarding current of 2x 50A. Victron Energy inverter/chargers are designed for professional use. They are suitable for a variety of devices with high and low starting powers. The Quattro is a multifunctional energy system with sine wave inverter, battery charger and AC transfer switches for two AC inputs. The batteries are safely charged, even if the quality of the power supply is low.

Proven reliability

The full-bridge plus toroid transformer topology has proven itself very reliably for many years. The inverter is resistant to short circuits and protects against overheating, regardless of whether this occurs due to overload or a high ambient temperature.

PowerControl - Maximum use of limited generator, shore or mains power

The Quattro is a very powerful battery charger. This means a heavy load on the generator or shore connection (up to 16A per 5kVA Quattro at 230VAC). A power limit can be set for each AC input. The Quattro then takes other power consumers into account and only uses the current that is 'left' for charging, so that the generator or shore connection is not overloaded.

PowerAssist – Do more with your generator or shore power

This function adds an extra dimension to the PowerControl principle by allowing the Quattro to complement the capacity of the alternative source. Where peak current is often only needed for a short time, the Quattro ensures that insufficient grid or aggregate power is immediately compensated with power from the battery. If the load decreases, the reserve current is used to recharge the battery.

High start-up power

Required to start loads with high inrush current, such as voltage converters for LED lamps, halogen lamps or power tools.

Automatic and interruption-free switching (UPS function)

If the power fails or if the power supply via shore or a generator is interrupted, the inverter in the Quattro is automatically activated to provide power to the connected loads. This happens so fast (in less than 20 milliseconds) that computers and other electronic devices can continue to function undisturbed.

Two AC inputs with integrated transfer switch

The Quattro can be connected to two independent AC sources, for example the mains and a generator, or two generators. The Quattro automatically switches to the active source.

Two AC outputs

The main output has an interruption-free functionality. The Quattro takes over the power supply of the connected loads in the event of a power failure or if the generator/shore power is interrupted. This happens so fast (in less than 20 milliseconds) that computers and other electronic devices can continue to function undisturbed. The second output only becomes active if AC voltage is available at one of the inputs of the Quattro. Loads that should not discharge the battery, such as a water heater, can be connected to this output.

Virtually unlimited power thanks to parallel connection

Up to 6 Quattro units can be connected in parallel. For example, with six 48/10000/140 units, an output power of 48kW / 60kVA with 840A charging power can be achieved.

Three-phase circuit

Three units can be configured for three-phase output. But that's not all: up to 6 sets of three units can be connected in parallel for an inverter power of 144kW / 180kVA and a charging capacity of more than 2500A.

Search Mode

When search mode is activated, the power consumption of the inverter is reduced by approx. 70% at no load. The 'search mode' means that the Quattro is switched off if there is no load or if it is very low. Every 2 seconds the Quattro will switch on. If the output current exceeds a set level, the inverter will continue to work. If not, the inverter will turn off again.

AES (Automatic Economy Switch)

Instead of 'search mode' you can also choose the AES mode. When this setting is enabled, the power consumption at no load and low load is reduced by approx. 20% by 'narrowing' the sine wave voltage. The AES mode is not adjustable with DIP switches and is only applicable in 'stand alone' configuration.

Programmable relay (3x)

Quattros are equipped with three (3) pieces of programmable relays, which can be set, for example, as a general alarm, for DC undervoltage or start/stop function for a generator. By default, a relay is set as an alarm relay, that is, the relay becomes powerless in case of an alarm or a pre-alarm (inverter almost too hot, ripple voltage on the input almost too high, battery voltage almost too low).

Solar energy: AC voltage always available - even during a grid failure

The Quattro can be used in both autonomous and grid-connected PV and other alternative energy systems. Software to detect loss of power supply is available.

Monitoring and control locally or remotely - optional

Monitor and control your Quattro system locally (LAN) or remotely via the Internet from around the world with the free VRM app and the free VRM portal website. Access is possible for multiple operating systems via a phone, tablet, laptop or PC. There are multiple options available: Battery Monitor (BMV), Multi-control panel, Color Control GX and other GX communication devices, VE. Bus Smart Dongle for smartphone or tablet (Bluetooth Smart) and with an interface cable for laptop or PC (USB or RS232). The level of control from customizing the Quattro to setting up a Geofence for rental vehicles and more is endless. To get an impression of the VRM (Victron Remote Management) website, visit: Victron Remote Management  and click on the 'Try Our Demo' button. Victron Remote Management (VRM) is a free service from Victron Energy for remote monitoring of electrical equipment around the world.

Configuration locally or remotely

> In the case of a stand-alone application, if the settings need to be changed, this can be done within minutes via a DIP switch setup procedure.> Parallel and three-phase applications can be configured with the VE software. Bus Quick Configure and VE. Bus System Configurator.> Autonomous, grid-interactive and proprietary consumption applications, with inverters and/or MPPT solar chargers, can be configured with assistants (application-oriented software for specific applications).> When connected to the Ethernet, systems with a Color Control GX and other GX communication devices are accessible and settings can be changed.
